Sydney FC have pinched a last minute draw against Melbourne Heart in a rain drenched game at AAMI Park.
A last minute tap in from Nick Carle was enough to give the Sky Blues a deserved point after Heart had gone ahead in the 85th minute through Maycon.
Referee Chris Beath gave out 8 yellow cards for the game, the first after only 48 seconds to Sydney young gun Terry Antonis.
Both teams created plenty of chances in the first half but were missing a quality finish. Alex Terra tried to lob Sydney 'keeper Liam Reddy when he should have blasted past and Antonis shot wide when he should have hit the mark.
Terra might have counted himself unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when he was bundled over in the area, but Beath rightfully waved away as Terra went down far too easily.
Both teams made first half substitutions with Sydney captain Terry McFlynn coming off injured and David Williams coming off for what looked to be a tactical change.
The second half was played at a much quicker tempo but both sides still lacked that quality infront of goal.
The introduction of Maycon by John Van't Schip was a master stroke when Mate Dugandzic put a low cross into the mixer which found the Brazilian camped in the box on 85 minutes. Maycon controlled the ball nudged off two sky blue defenders and neatly put the ball passed Liam Reddy.
The game looked to have been won until Beath awarded Sydney a contentious corner and the ensuing goal mouth scramble was flicked home by Carle with virtually the last kick off the game.
The Draw sees Sydney jump up to 4th spot on the table and leaves Heart winless after four games with pressure mounting on John Van't Schip
