Adelaide United winger Iain Ramsay believes consistency is the key to getting the Reds’ season back on track.
United were touted as one of the teams to beat before the season kicked-off, however they are yet to live up to their pre-season hype.
Ramsay has produced a number of industrious performances in recent weeks but the twenty-three-year-old said a consistent team performance is more important than individual plaudits.
“(On a personal level) I’m enjoying this season very much but the biggest thing for me is that we start to win a lot of games consistently and if we do that we’ll get ourselves right back up the table,” Ramsay said.
“It hasn’t been the greatest start for us this season but the last two or three games we haven’t lost and we’ve got a bit of consistency behind us and we’re growing week in, week out with confidence and we’re all buzzing for Friday night.”
Adelaide face the Newcastle Jets at Hindmarsh this Friday but will be without star striker Sergio van Dijk and Brazilian left-back Cassio.
Cassio has been ruled out indefinitely after sustaining a foot injury in last week’s clash with the Phoenix at Eden Park.
United will be able to call on Milan Susak and Evgeniy Levchenko for the match, with both players successfully completing two training sessions this week.
The Reds are currently languishing in eighth place in the Hyundai A-League table with just two wins from seven games, however victory against the Jets could see them jump as high as equal second on the ladder.
Adelaide United will be out for consecutive home wins when they take on the Jets this Friday at Hindmarsh Stadium, 7.30pm ACDT.
