Archie making an Irish coffee for Jim |
Melbourne Victory put in arguably their best performance of the season on Friday with a 3-0 win over Wellington. Unfortunately for the Blues their talismanic striker Archie Thompson didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet despite a number of chances to put the New Zealanders to the sword.
Archie hasn’t scored since Melbourne’s 1-1 draw with Adelaide United way back on January 13th which leads us to believe he’ll be moving into a new job come the end of the season. The most likely outcome is that Thompson starts working as a bartender because on recent form he seems quite talented at putting shots over the bar.

With Jerrad Tyson sporting a peroxide-blonde Mohawk for his side’s win over Perth we at The Football Sack began scouring the internet for any lookalikes of the Gold Coast ‘keeper.
The Football Sack podcast host Jack Quigley came up with a number of great lookalikes but this was the best of them! The team had a lot of fun picking out the best doppelgangers, so we've put the better ones in it's own article. Leave a comment below and let us know of any other Hyundai A-League lookalikes, and they might feature in the next article!

What a funky good goal JB! |
James Brown made a triumphant return to the Gold Coast United side on Sunday by slotting a double in their 3-0 win over Perth Glory. The Godfather of Goals sealed the points after coming off the bench with a well-taken left-footed shot and a curling free-kick.
The 22-year-old has signed on with the Newcastle Jets for next season who look to have gotten a Super Bad deal by picking up the talented youngster. The move takes JB away from the uncertainty of life on the Sunshine coast with potentially just one week remaining in the club’s short history.

Fighting Bosschaart was just the warm-up |
Charismatic forward Besart Berisha was back to his antagonising best on Saturday as he helped Brisbane to a 2-1 win over the Jets. The Albanian scored his 19th goal of the year putting him 10 ahead of his nearest rival.
Berisha looked to be spoiling for a fight at every opportunity as he exchanged heated words with ‘keeper Ben Kennedy, Sung-Hwan Byun and at one point almost came to blows with team-mate Issey Nakajima-Farran.
The volatile striker has undoubtedly been the best forward of the season but Ange may think about incorporating more boxing sessions in training to quench Berisha’s thirst for a fight.
Jim meets AVB
Mr Magilton got his team back to winning ways with an emphatic victory over the Phoenix to open the round.
Despite Finals Football being out of the question for Melbourne, Jim has all but cemented his spot as Melbourne’s coach for next season. To celebrate, Jim decided to share the news with one of his good mates from his time in Europe.
