Central Coast playmaker Tom Rogic reaffirmed Holger Osieck's faith on Sunday afternoon as he created the winner for the Mariners' deserved 1-0 away win over Wellington.
The new Socceroos call-up put a clear-cut opportunity in the 49th minute as sky-high as his current confidence, but recovered to supply Daniel McBreen's winner twenty minutes from time.
Wellington never looked a great threat to the team with the two stars as they struggled to get out of the funk which descended last Monday against Melbourne Victory.
The Mariners had three obvious opportunities before McBreen finally struck, but poor finishing from Sterjovski, Rogic and McBreen himself meant Graham Arnold had to wait before, at least momentarily, his side went top of the league.
WELLINGTON: Paston, Bertos, Sigmund, Durante, Lochhead, Smith, Muscat, Fenton, Brockie, Ifill, Huysegems.
CENTRAL COAST: Ryan, Bojic, Rose, Sainsubury, Zwaanswijk, Montgomery, McGlinchey, Hutchinson, Rogic, McBreen, Sterjovski.
