Melbourne Victory have won their fourth game in five games
after a brilliant curling effort from Marco Rojas gave the home side a narrow
1-0 win over Perth Glory at Aami Park.
It was a disappointing first half of football for both sides,
with neither team able to create any clear cut chances. The only real chance of
the half fell to Kiwi international Marco Rojas, whose attempt to lob Danny
Vukovic could only find the top of the net.
After starting well in the second half, Victory finally broke
the deadlock in the fifty-eighth minute through in-form winger Marco Rojas, who
found the top right hand corner with a brilliant curling drive.
Following the goal, the home side had Nathan Coe to thank after
the keeper made two crucial saves, firstly palming away a Chris Harold strike
and minutes later saving brilliantly to deny a Shane Smeltz header. Despite
pushing hard to for an equaliser, Perth were unable to find a way past Coe,
therefore falling to their fourth loss of the season.
