Crossbar: Christmas wishlist edition

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

The A-League Christmas Wish list. Because we love a good list here at The Football Sack:

Graham Arnold - The A-League to play Underworlds "Underneath the radar" as the teams walk out song.

Victory - A second Mark Milligan.

Heart - David Beckham.

Brisbane - Ange Postecoglou.

Frank Farina - A Christmas miracle.

Alessandro Del Piero - Some new shoulders to help carry the load.

Send us your A-League Christmas Wishlist ideas #ALeagueXmasWishlist and we'll chuck the best ones in next week's Crossbar.

These snuck under the Crossbar and into The Sack (Likes)

1. Sydney Derby atmosphere. Over to you now Melbourne. @Dale_Roots

2. Mark Milligan. Melbourne Victory are a title threat with him, cannon fodder without him.

3. Pedj Bojic. Mhm.

4. Still only two wins separating 4th from last. #Hope

5. Joel Griffiths back in the A-League. A perfect fit for Sydney FC in every way.

What went over the Crossbar (Dislikes)

1. Paul Ifill racially abused in Adelaide.

2. Flares. Illegal, dangerous (especially when used by flogs!), and unnecessary. Stop being sheep.

3. The Jets in financial crisis. Again..

4. The car freshener's that MVFC gave out at the game. They were putrid!

Something we learned:

Graham Arnold cannot keep this 'flying under the radar' myth running any longer. Mariners are title favourites and deservedly so.

Something we already knew:

Derby games are good for the league. Lets get a second team everywhere.

Something we would change:

A 'shirts on' policy across the league. Either that or the clubs must force their fans to get into shape.

Hero of the week:

Michael Theo. Was outstanding against his former club.

Villain of the week:

Clint Bolton. Has plenty of credits in the bank, but spent a fair few of them on Friday night.

Player to watch:

Emile Heskey this week against the league's worst defence. Ready, aim, fire!!!!

This week's prediction:

1. Full house sign to go up at AAMI Park when 27,000 go through the gates even though AAMI Park tell us the capacity is 30,050.

2. Heart will beat Victory and the old "ladder position mean nothing when going into a derby" cliché will be done to death.

3. Crossbar will be the most read article on the web by next Tuesday
