Melbourne Heart defeated Brisbane Roar 3-2 in what was a controversial match at AAMI Park in Melbourne.
Goals from David WIlliams, Josip Tadic and Fred looked to be enough for the Heart until a Besart Berisha double shook the Heart camp. Berisha was awarded a penalty in the 73rd minute after Heart captain Fred took down Halloran in the penalty box just minutes after Heart goal scorer Williams seen red after a tackle on Ivan Franjic.
Melbourne started off the game with a bang with Williams putting the hosts up after 13 minutes, a lovely pass by Richard Garcia creating the goal. Josip Tadic scored his fifth goal for the club after 34 minutes following a wonderful forward run by Michael Marrone to set him up, however replays showed that the goal was indeed offside. A similar run down the wing by Aziz Behich allowed his captain Fred to score the Hearts third in the 52nd minute.
The game was not without controversy however Heart will be thrilled with the three points, keeping them clear off the bottom of the table.
