He's no celebrity but Antonis is the Apprentice

Saturday, February 16, 2013

Terry Antonis has recently made his way back into the Sydney FC regular starting lineup and took advantage by opening his senior scoring account in the 49th minute of the match. The youngster has a wealth of experienced teammates to apprentice under and now, after 33 games without a scalp, has finally put one away.

Antonis signs for Sydney in 2010
He'll retire right this evening.

Sydney FC is the perfect team for the Yellow Brick Road wealth management company aimed at pensioners. Del Piero, Emerton, Bosschaart, Necevski, Reid, McFlynn, both Griffiths and now Neil make up the 30+ brigade and are all on the verge of falling apart physically as well as financially.

YBR ambush marketers can be forgiven for spoiling the sea of sky blue in the crowd if they've got players' futures in mind.

Antonis' deflected shot was not the only goal for Sydney. Fellow Sky Blue youth Blake Powell also put his name on the scoresheet, tapping in a goalmouth scramble in the 66th minute to make it two nil.

Adelaide then nipped one back in the 77th minute with a zippy counter attack that saw Tomi Juric in on goal with only a well advanced Janjetovic to beat.

But it would finish 2-1 to the home side, securing five wins in a row at Allianz Stadium for Sydney FC, who continue their steady advance up the A-League ladder.
