Wanderers players clean up after embarrassing fans

Dozens of flares in the stands, bottles thrown in the direction of players, flares thrown onto the pitch, seats broken - unruly Wanderers fans got the better of Sydney Football Stadium at Sunday's Grand Final, and it was the team they support that had to clean up the mess.

This isn't a comedic article. It's a wake up call to football hooligans in the Wanderers camp that think they deserve to be here.

And then came the flares; too many to count. And all from the Wanderers active fans, a constant sea of smoke and red light whilst the Yellow Army at the other end emphatically and joyously supported their team flare-free. Flares. Are. Banned. So there should not be dozens of them being set alight.

Next up a flare was thrown dangerously onto the pitch when Danny McBreen was stepping up to take his penalty. Wanderers defender Shannon Cole rushed the flare off the pitch looking highly red faced. In fairness, perhaps that was from the light the emergency beacon emitted.

Following the converted penalty, Western Sydney's Kwabena Appiah-Kubi was left having to clean up after disgruntled Wanderers fans again, this time when at least two bottles were thrown onto the pitch in the direction of Mariners players. Fortunately no-one was injured.

It doesn't stop there. Pictures have surfaced of rows of seats broken in the home end of Allianz Stadium - allegedly by Wanderers fans - a sight Sydney FC Cove fans will take offense to.

Finally, following Mariners fans politely clapping the Western Sydney Wanderers players, coaches and support staff as they received runner's up medallions, the RBB turned their back on the trophy presentation and booed.

You piss me off, football hooligans. Now piss off out of our sport.
