Statement: TFS response to FFA charge

Friday, January 03, 2014

The Football Sack can confirm that it has received media statements from Melbourne Victory FC, and Western Sydney Wanderers FC in regards to the recent incident after a Hyundai A-League fixture between the two clubs.

The Football Sack wishes to state that it accepts the sanctions put forward by Football Federation Australia (FFA) in light of the debacle involving fans of Melbourne Victory and Western Sydney Wanders.

While The Football Sack is disappointed that the actions of a few could have implications for many, The Football Sack accepts that it is necessary to take steps to eradicate this sort of behaviour from the game in Australia.

The Football Sack in no way condones or tolerates the actions of a small minority that participate in anti-social behaviour, and is particularly outraged that balaclavas are seen as acceptable attire in the middle of summer.

The Football Sack is of the opinion that it is important for all of the game’s stakeholders to have their say at this time but in statement format only.

There will be no further comment from The Football Sack on this issue (until The Football Sack feels the need to comment further).
