The Thanksgiving dinner with the team I mentioned in my last blog was a success, Kendall and Dee did an awesome job putting it all together. There was so much food… my fave was the pumpkin pie (the family dog enjoyed it too)!
Set us up nicely for our away trip to Brisbane…
We were narrowly beat 1-0 by the Roar on the day. They play some great football and frustrated us with how well they switched the ball and played out of the back – however we did very well to contain them in our own half.

We had another solid performance against a top side, creating a number of quality chances… we just couldn’t put them in the back of the net. There were a lot of positives to take away from the game; we’re happy with how we’re performing and confident going into the second half of the season.
A big congrats to Cassie [Dimovski] for her first appearance starting in goal for Melbourne Victory Women. The youngster did really well, stepping up to the plate and looked confident all match in her debut game.
This weekend we face Newcastle Jets at home in Geelong at Simonds Stadium. A few of us did some promo stuff down there earlier this week… the pitch is immaculate!
We’re fortunate to have a couple games here this season, it’s a brilliant stadium and we’re hoping to get a lot of support from the local community.
As the ladder currently stands, it’s between us and Newcastle fighting for the fourth spot. Both squads have a mix of experience and youth and we will be battling it out to secure points going into the second half of the season.
If you’re in the area come down and say hi after the game, otherwise tune into our match this Saturday live on ABC at 3pm!
