Western Sydney club reveals name

Monday, June 18, 2012

It is yet to be officially confirmed, but the new Sydney club will unveil their name as 'TBC FC' within the week.

The Who, TBC FC's supporter group
Drawing on their lack of announcements after their extensive listening tour of western Sydney, To Be Confirmed Football Club was today revealed as the fledgeling club's inaugural name (which may be changed if it isn't received well) alongside the release of the 2012/13 Hyundai A-League season fixtures.

A full list of TBC FC's fixtures are as follows:

1: Central Coast Mariners (home) 6 Oct 2012
2: Adelaide United (away) 12 Oct 2012
3: Sydney FC (home) 20 Oct 2012

16: Wellington Phoenix (away) 13 Jan 2013
17: Brisbane Roar (away) 20 Jan 2013
18: Melbourne Heart (home) 26 Jan 2013

26: Sydney FC (home) 23 Mar 2013
27: Newcastle Jets (away) 29 Mar 2013

Further, it can be revealed that the club's feature colour will be bright red - just like the western Sydney franchise's embarrassed cheeks - their marquee signing will be the Invisible Man, and their mascot will be the Loch Ness Monster.

Rumours that TBC FC will play their home games in Atlantis and that their supporter group are to be named The Who are largely speculative, however a source close to the club (figuratively close, since the home ground is currently unknown) suggest they are not far from the truth.

"We're currently investigating the possibility of a preseason tour, hopefully to the Bermuda Triangle, as we feel that the aura of uncertainty and the unknown really fits our brand image right now..."

The new Sydney club kick-off their football on October 6th against Central Coast Mariners at home. Ticket information will be released closer to season start.
