Like a movie, Sydney begin their revival with 2-1 win

Sydney FC tonight brought out their 'community strip' against Brisbane, selling 100 outside the stadium pregame with the plan to auction off the players' signed jerseys.

I hear Culina looks great in white, but I guess we'll never know.

Only six minutes in Alé Del Piero made the most of a soft pass from teammate Blake Powell, turning Roar defender Ivan Franjic several times before burying the ball into the net. The goal sees him become the highest goalscorer for Sydney FC in a single season with 11.

Jade North seemed to have an enemy at the gates, hit by a sniper in the 29th minute and going to ground so dramatically that the stunt wouldn't look out of place in a Hollywood blockbuster. Jude Law however was nowhere to be seen.

On half time Besart Berisha converted a penalty to level the scores for Roar after Fabio brought down Stefan Nijland.

An entertaining second half came to a head in the 69th with Peter Triantis zipping one home from outside the box to regain the advantage for the Sky Blues.

Another Oscar winning performance from Del Piero and the glitz and glamour of an awards night could still yet be on the cards.
