Sydney's winning goal crashed into the net quicker than a Sim City server. Central Coast attempted to load a goal of their own, but were asked to turn their performance off and on again to see if that helped. 

It didn't.

Seb Ryall opened the scoring in the 25th with a wicked deflection that some thought came off Il Pinturicchio but Ryall was credited with the goal after replays showed Trent Sainsbury got the final touch.

Central midfielders Terry McFlynn and Peter Triantis – both re-signed midweek – affirmed the faith shown in them by coach Frank Farina, the duo both putting in decent 90 minute stints.

McGlinchey was Mariners' best, weaving his way around sky blue shirts incessantly. A seething shot from the in form player in the 65th minute forced a parry and save from Janjetovic.

Rhyan 'I-can-play-anywhere' Grant found himself linking with Terry Antonis on several occasions; the pair seemed in sync with each-other throughout the match.

Ever lurking Del Piero almost made it two in the 69th, the 16155 fans already celebrating before his shot curled around the post.

Substitute Chianese then did get the Sky Blue's second, playing a delicate one-two with Antonis before slotting home with ease.

Sydney FC now have six consecutive wins at Allianz Stadium but need to transfer that home form to away games if they're a chance to make the finals. Central Coast Mariners remain clear second, but the Premiership could slip further away from them pending tomorrow's result in Parramatta.
