The Chinese are an exciting but inexperienced team to watch. Late fade outs are expected but they're a team you don't want to miss.
China take on Cameroon in the Round of 16
Group Performance
China had a very mixed group performance with only one convincing win after inexperience proved to be detrimental against the hosts Canada following a 1-0 loss due to a very late goal.

Their 1-0 victory over the Netherlands proved that the Chinese national team are in fact a force to be reckoned with in the World Cup. It was one of their best performances in the group stage and it showed off their potential as they led an attacking onslaught which enabled them to dominate possession for majority of the match.

In their last group game, China only took one point away from their draw against the New Zealand. China tried to fight back against New Zealand but a very late equaliser shattered their dreams of taking away full points from the match.

They'll beat Cameroon because...

The enigmatic side at the World Cup has nothing to lose. They have proven in bursts that they are ready for this type of level of football and they have some proven goal scorers.

They'll get knocked out by Cameroon because...

Ironically enough, the energy they have being a very young team could very much be their ultimate downfall. A lack of control and even a lack of experience were the reasons behind their late loss to Canada and their draw against New Zealand.

Can they win the World Cup?

No probably not. But it's not about the victory, it's about the journey.

Best moment in the tournament so far

China's 1-0 victory over the Netherlands proved that anything was possible for the side if they remained focused and played to their strengths.

Key Player

China will have two key players going into their Round of 16 Match. Both Wang ShanShan and Wang Lisi have the attacking confidence and creativity to score goals that China will crucially need.
