DJ iBiNi tunes Gosford crowd

Thursday, February 07, 2013

DRUGS, ORGANISED CRIME AND HOOLIGANISM were not immediately evident in an A-League night out.

Cheap Thursday was party night in Gosford with the locals gifted five free Bluetongues, though none from barkeep Mat Ryan for a group of Wellingtonians.

Old man McBreen was keen to show he could keep up with the kids in smashing the first shot, but was matched by veteran rival Mark Paston.

Shortly after the surely underage Mike McGlinchey was denied entry to the penalty spot, DJ iBiNi had the crowd buzzing with his coolness in picking a club favourite - 'Ball in the Net'. The admirably excitable Josh Rose was credited with an assist in spotting the potential tune.

Jeremy Brockie got aggressive just over 30 minutes into the night but Trent Sainsbury played bouncer to the attacker, putting his header into the bar and preventing his boys from copping a sucker punch.

Drinks flowed soon after as everyone vacated the D-Floor to refresh in the rest rooms, with DJ iBiNi proving a hit.

Rose and his eager buddy Pedj Bojic returned with the right attitude but not even the know-how of McBreen could help them score, leaving the pair frustrated by missed chances.

John Hutchinson, leader of the wolf pack, finally got the job done as only a seasoned professional knows how, before confused security, imported from Wellington, let McBreen become the third local into the VIP area.

Paston rescued his punchdrunk mates a few more times but couldn't help them from taking a total of five hits, with DJ iBiNi and the fashionably-late Mitch Duke punishing them before last drinks.
