The City of Angels has been a lot of different things to a lot of different people in its colourful history but to a number of diehard, and soon to be very jet-lagged, supporters of women's football in Australia, it will become our gateway to the pinnacle of women's football. The 2015 Women's World Cup.

This particular adventure will take us firstly to the city once dubbed by Rob Lowe as "a hell hole", Winnipeg, for the Matilda's first two group games against the United States and Nigeria. Then it's off to a city bigger than Cyprus with, I'm hoping, half the ethnic tension as the Matilda's finish their group stage effort against Sweden in the northern city of Edmonton.
From there it's all the way east to Moncton, New Brunswick - if you've never heard of either Moncton before this tournament you're not the only one. There the Matilda's will play their Round of 16 match should we finish second in the group. To end the month, quarter and semi finals in Montreal interspersed between copious amounts of poutine.
I'll be keeping these updates nice and regular so if you would like a little bit of a taste of what this tournament, and the Women's World Cup in general, is all about then do tune in as I keep you updated on all the thrills, spills and mad skills from the ground.
Finally, as far as predictions go, every ounce of my body is saying the Matilda's will put six past the USA on Monday on our way to a first world title. A little hopeful? Maybe. Will it be exactly exciting regardless? Absolutely!
